Hradcany

This is what the view of Hradcany looks like in color at night. The different colored lights in Prague are stunning. Walking around the city at night seems like a stroll through some Walt Disney creation, but it's all real. This is one of Prague's most famous views.

The Hradcany architecture that runs along the hill above the Lesser Town (Little Quarter) was not designed by a single architect, but grew over generations of architects and stonemasons from the 1100s through 1929, when the St. Vitus Cathedral was completed. Other buildings you can see here include the Archbishop's palace, the Church of All Saints, built in 1185, St. Nicholas Church, built in 1704, and an ancient monastery. The bridge is the famous Charles Bridge, built in 1357. It's an amazing sight when it is all lit up at night, and I couldn't help but take this shot every time I walked along the Vltava. In the lower right corner, those are gulls sitting on pilings.
