Tiger Swallowtail

This is a young Tiger Swallowtail butterfly. You can tell it is young because of the condition of the wings -- notice how they are in good shape, particularly the "tails." As they get older, their wings get tattered. See this one for an example of an older butterfly. This was shot in Mason Neck NWR in Virginia.
