Memorial Bridge
Taken earlier the same night as the shot from on the bridge, this one is basically the same idea except with the A couple of things to note. First, the long exposure flattens out the waves in the Potomac. A similar effect can be seen on the Pacific Ocean waves in this shot from Monterey, California. Second, the star points of the street lamps are caused by using a very small aperture. They are more defined than in the last shot because this was taken with a wide angle, the other with a telephoto. This diffraction from point light sources works better with wide angles. For really cool stars, use an ultrawide, like the Eiffel Tower shot. LENS: 28-70 at ~40mm | FILM: Fuji Sensia II 100 | EXPOSURE: f/22 at ~4", polarizer | DATE: 05/00 |
