Sunrise

A beautiful sunrise from inside the Lincoln Memorial, looking out across the Reflecting Pool.

Since 9-11, the Park Police have instituted a requirement for tripod permits on the top level of the Lincoln Memorial, so shots like this are not supposed to be possible without a permit. Of course, this shot was made after 9-11, but I did not know the rule then, and nobody stopped me at 6:00 a.m.

I would like to go back and shoot this again, with the smallest touch of fill flash for the shadowy foreground columns, but the last time I went, I was stopped because I did not have a permit.
