Santa Maria del Fiore

The facade of Il Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and the Campanile di Giotto. Sometimes, rather than battling the frustration of trying to keep the vertical lines vertical with very wide angle shots (see the discussion on this shot of the entrance), I will instead embrace the exaggerated wide angle look of the converging lines and try to turn it into a more dynamic, graphic composition.

There are several other examples of this type of wide angle shooting on the site, including this shot from Siena and this shot from Washington, DC.
