Western Gull

The location was very near where I shot another gull on these pages, but this was shot one month later. I shot portraits of this guy for a while, and was happy to catch a series of shots as he yawened. This is at the peak of the yawn, but you can see the whole series, which I turned into a print for a notebook of my images, here.

I had to peek through vegetation with the lens to get a relatively clear view of this bird. The coloration on the left side is out-of-focus leaves between the bird and the camera.
