Piazza Pubblico and Il Campo The famous Piazza Pubblico and Il Campo of Siena, more fully described in this shot. The square has been the heart of the town since the 1200s. When it is not covered with dirt for the twice-yearly Palio, tourists roam the square, followed by pigeons looking for scraps of bruschetta.
