Elephant Seal

Elephant Seals seem to be all over the place along the Northern California coast. They are protected, though, and you generally can't get very close to them. This was shot in pretty harsh light, around mid-day, from a relatively high vantage point along Highway 1 (the famous Pacific Coast Highway), overlooking a beach near Morro Bay, California.
