Whitetail Fawn Portrait

This little guy walked right up to me in Shenandoah National Park, at the Big Meadows area. As I mentioned in a couple of other shots, Big Meadows is a great location to shoot Whitetail Deer.

This was taken on a different weekend than several of the other deer shots on my page. I got a lower percentage of "keepers" on the morning I shot this, mainly because the light was strong. Even though I was shooting right at sunrise, the light was much stronger the morning I shot this compared to the rainy, overcast morning I shot the others. Shadows and contrast were a problem.
I had to worry much more about the direction of the light.

You can see the difference in shadows between this shot and one like this one,
which was shot during the rainy weekend.
