Sandpiper

I am guessing the ID of this bird. There are several species of Sandpipers that this could be, and I find them difficult to identify. This was shot at Bolsa Chica State Beach in California. Though it looks like it is asleep, it actually just closed its eyes for an instant. It was in constant motion. I have several shots with its eyes opened, but I liked this one the best. With the ultra-clean background, it looks very peaceful to me.
