Black-crowned Night Heron Chick

One of the chicks in a nest at the Black-crowned Night Heron rookery in the National Zoo. Although this was shot at the zoo, it is a free and wild bird. Black-crowned Night Herons have choosen trees at the zoo as a rookery for the past couple of years. This is a fairly significant crop from the full frame, maybe 50%. The original includes this bird's brother (sister?) to the right, but is slightly busier, and I prefer the cropped version.
